What we use, in plain English

meldpdf itself is deliberately light on tracking. The site does not use cookies to store your files or identify you personally — every tool runs in your browser and your documents never reach a server (see how it works). The storage that is used falls into two groups:

1. Essential / preferences

• Theme preference — when you switch between light and dark mode, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage (not a cookie, and never sent anywhere). It only remembers your preferred appearance.
• Hosting — the site is served through Cloudflare, which may set a strictly necessary cookie for security and to keep the service running.

2. Advertising (Google AdSense)

meldpdf uses Google AdSense to keep the tools free. When ads are shown, Google and its partners may set cookies — including the DoubleClick cookie — to serve and measure ads, and, where you consent, to personalise them based on your prior visits to this and other sites.

• Manage or turn off personalised ads at Google Ads Settings.
• Opt out of many vendors at aboutads.info/choices and youronlinechoices.eu.
• In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, personalised-advertising cookies are set only after you consent via the notice shown on the site.

Controlling cookies in your browser

You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings, and clear local storage the same way. Blocking essential storage may reset your theme preference; blocking advertising cookies means you may still see ads, but they won't be personalised.

We may update this policy as the site changes; the "last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
